FLEX TESTING FOR THE FOR THE 2021-22 PROGRAM YEAR IS MOVING ONLINE!
Due to safety concerns related to the coronavirus pandemic, the FLEX Program will be conducting testing for the 2021-22 program year ONLINE in the fall of 2020. Applicants can participate in the recruitment process from any location that has Internet access, using either a mobile device or a computer. FLEX recruitment will still include three rigorous rounds of testing even though participants will not take part in in-person testing.
Round 1: Open to eligible applicants from September 1 – October 15, 2020. This round includes a preliminary online application and 3 essay questions which must be submitted within 10 days of starting the application.
Round 2: Students will be invited to take part in an online English test.
Round 3: This semi-finalist round will begin in November and include an interview, 3 more essay questions, the full application, and a comprehensive English test. Students who pass to this stage will be invited to participate by the American Councils office in their country.
Eligibility Requirements
This competition is limited to students who meet the following requirements:
Born between February 15 2003 – July 15 2006;
Students currently enrolled in 11thgrade, having an academic standing of good or better and
studying English;
Eligible to receive a U.S. visa;
Students who have NOT spent more than three months in the U.S. in the last 5 years;
Citizens of Azerbaijan.
Secondary school students with disabilities are invited to participate in the competition. Some students with disabilities are invited to the U.S. under this program each year. In the past, students with visual, hearing and motor impairments have participated in the program.
