Critical Language Scholarship Program

CLS institutes provide fully-funded group-based intensive language instruction and structured cultural enrichment experiences for eight weeks for U.S. citizen undergraduate and graduate students.

A program of the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the CLS program offers intensive summer language institutes in 15 critical foreign languages. The selection process is administered by American Councils for International Education with awards approved by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

The CLS Azerbaijani program is hosted by the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) in Baku. The CLS institute at AUL offers Azerbaijani instruction at the beginning, advanced beginning, intermediate or advanced level.
